Almost in all pre-season test day, Honda's always been the fastest. Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Marco Simoncelli took turns even the best time recorded.
According to Executive Vice President of Honda, Shuhei Nakamoto, there is no secret behind the success of his team in preseason testing.
"There are no secrets. We just continue the concept of the machine last year and we developed many small things in many different areas, step by step," said Nakamoto, the official website of the MotoGP.
"It was just a combination of a good racer and a good motor too. Transmission of a new start we use is also a development. However, (Hiroshi) Aoyama is located in a satellite team and not wearing the new transmission also remains strong. This proves that the motor as a whole is getting stronger, "he explained.
Although his team performed beautifully throughout the preseason, Nakamoto not arrogant. He believes its rivals will be strengthened when the competition has begun.
"Two very powerful Yamaha Factory racer. They reached a record time is very fast and seems very consistent. Jorge (Lorenzo) remains fast on the track length, both here (Qatar) as well as in Sepang, and Spies seem stronger than last season. I hope they will be very competitive, "said Nakamoto.
"At Sepang, Ducati time records are not good, but here they approached us. I also hope they will be competitive," he added.
"For Suzuki, with only one rider I thought it would be difficult. But, so far they've done the job very well," he concluded.
